Hong Kong International Kungfu Festival 2010


Dear Martial Arts Fans and Practitioners
We are pleased to advise you that the Hong Kong International Kungfu Festival 2010 will be held in Hong Kong 26-28 November 2010.  The Festival is an integrated cultural event held to celebrate Hong Kong and China's unique martial arts heritage.  The event pays tribute to distinguished local martial artists who made the city the global hub of Kungfu, including Bruce Lee, Yip Man, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
The Festival comprises of 4 elements:
1. Guoshu (martial arts) Competition, inclusive of unarmed and weapon routines, sanshou, wrestling, Wing Chun sticking hands, Taiji push hands, shuttlecock (Jian-zi), chang-bing (long-range weapons), Chinese archery as well as other oriential martial arts such as karate, taekwondo and boxing.
2. Kungfu Comic and Animination Exhibition, a platform showcasing martial arts through comic and other interactive animation.
3. Kungfu Carnival with non-stop martial arts performance.  World renowned Kungfu troupes and masters will be invited to Hong Kong and there will be commercial counters on Kungfu materials and supplies.
4. Bruce Lee 70th Anniversary -  Thousand People Nunchaku Show. 2010 is Bruce Lee's 70th anniversary and the event will be held on 27 November, the birthday of Bruce Lee.  We invite kungfu and Bruce Lee's fans from all over the world to participate, and to play Bruce Lee's best of the best tricks: Nunchaku together to celeberate this great master.  It is the highight of the Festival and a momentous evens to take part in.
To assist Kungfu fans from all over the world to take part, the Momentous Asia Travel & Events Company Ltd (Travel Agent Licence 353406) has partnered with the Festival and prepared tour packages for all overseas participants to book.  The package will enable you to take part in major events of the Festival, and in addition, we will:
1. Recreate a celebration at a local Chinese Temple in Hong Kong, with unicorn dance, roast pig cutting, incense burning followed by a Big Bowl Feast, typical of Hakka people in Hong Kong.
2. A Dragon boat race, the traditioanl Chinese sport where you will take part in the paddling (after a brief instructional exercise) and compete with your fellow Kungfu fans from around the world.
In addition, two optional post tours are offered:
1. Pilgrim to Nanshan and Foshan, the birthplaceof Kungfu in the south where the great masters such as Wong Fei Hong, Yip Man (teacher of Bruce Lee) were born or preached Kungfu before they came to Hong Kong.
2. Pilgrim to Shaolin Temple and central China tour, the ultimate destination for all kungfu fans.
Exchange sessions with local professional martial arts schools are incorporated in the pilgrims so that in addition to sightseeing and tour, you'll  do exchange with local Chinese kungfu practitioners and have a better idea of how they are professionally taught.
